SOLAR FOR HOMES

Baad As Salaam Il Jameel

Few members of the jamaat are looking into installing solar panels on thier homes.  Below is an email from the contractor who will purchase and install the panels.  Also attached are several files describing the components and the last pdf document has the pricing.  All the files are not attached because the email is too large.  The pricing is dependent on the Kilowatts of installation and the type of roof.  The pricing is for ten homes.  Please contact Shk Shabbir Bhai Saifee (ssaifee786@aol.com) and Saifuddin Mogri (saifmogr@hotmail.com).  if you are interested in installing solar panels on your home.  The remaining files will be sent to mumineen with  serious interest in installting solar panels.  Also, if you have looked into pricing with other vendoors, please share that information with Saifuddn Bhai Mogri.  Below is the email from the contractor and some of the attachements:

As a Value Added Reseller of Mitsubishi, one of the benefits is that I we can call the Mitsubishi Electric US Photovoltaic Division’s Senior Engineering Manager and their Business Development Manager and speak to them directly about your questions. We have put together some cost breakdown based on standard installation on Flat, Shingle and Tile roofs per your request. These costs represent a discount based on 10 home commitment.

In 2016 you may qualify for a 30% Incentive Tax Credit (ITC) from the IRS. Please discuss with your tax advisor.

You may qualify for additional rebates from LADWP. I don’t want you to take them into consideration when making your financial decision. If the rebate funds are still available, you will be eligible to receive them.

Some Technical items regarding Mitsubishi to Consider

Mitsubishi is a multi-national super corporation with long history. Mitsubishi is Japanese and very profitable and stable.

Mitsubishi is an Industrial giant with a history of making things that have a much longer life cycle than typical consumer electronics.

Mitsubishi uses P-Type solar panels which are the most reliable cells available.

Mitsubishi was the first panel manufacturer to make half cut cells and thus increase overall efficiencies in cells.

The Frames of the Mitsubishi panels are much stronger and double coated for corrosion resistance and durability. Again, Mitsubishi has been is an Industrial company that makes panels for use in the most sensitive and extreme conditions where reliability is paramount – Space (satellite installations). They have more than 41 years of Solar experience.

Mitsubishi was the first, and to our knowledge the only company to use lead-free solder in the inter-cell connections as an initiative to environmental protection.

Mitsubishi uses a newly re-designed junction box. The junction box is the weakest link (Achilles heel) of the solar panel system. The thermal heat characteristics have been vastly improved, reducing emitted heat by approximately 66%. When junction boxes fail, they pose a risk of combustion and therefore damage or possible fire on the roof. While the Mitsubishi Junction Boxes are potted and use a unique 4-layer encapsulating design (Resin cover, metal cover, mica sheet, and flame resistant pottant), most other junction boxes are single layer (resin cover). The 4 layer sealing of Mitsubishi junction boxes including the fact that their electronics are potted, reduce the chance of moisture and corrosion of the components and in a rare event that a fire should occur, the junction box is designed to enclose the flames and not let them spread to other areas. They are certified as IP67, the highest defined standard for water and dust sealing.

Warranty Statements from Component Suppliers

Mitsubishi Electric’s All modules feature a 25-year limited power output warranty. http://ift.tt/28FL4KP

SolarEdge inverters includes a 25 year warranty for power optimizers and a standard 12 year warranty for inverters, extendable to 20 or 25 years. They manage a rapid RMA process and generally ship a replacement unit within 48 hours at no cost, given the reported defect is eligible for coverage under the Limited Product Warranty. http://ift.tt/1pcDZML

Orion Solar Racking warrants that its Solar Panel Mounting System (Frame) is free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 15 years from the date on which the Frame is purchased from Orion Solar Racking (Warranty Period), on the terms set out in this warranty. http://ift.tt/PkTJhH

Labor Warranty Cybertech warrants that for a period of 5 years, any of the PV components installed by Cybertech that needs to be replaced will be done so for free labor.

Furthermore, once your system goes online, you will have the ability to monitor realtime production and get notification of any issues from your computer or smart phone. You will get alerts to any panel or component failures and be able to monitor and track your production history. See below the image
